Willie Nelson, I wish I could just punture my eardrumbs everytime I hear him singing. He CAN NOT sing, and receives “legend” status???
GEORGE JONES, HE WAS A DRUNKEN ASS, WHO SET A CRAPPY EXAMPLE FOR EVERYONE.
I’ll probably get slapped for this, but for me it’s Kenny Rogers.Outside of Lucille and Gambler the guy wasn’t country. He started off in rock then came to country, then went to pop.Islands in the stream made me gag as much then as it does today..Then him and Sheena Easton killed a great Bob Seger song. I just always seen him as a phony inside and out..
And Billy Ray Cryus.Do I really need to say why? lol
Kenny Rogers. He’s just plain boring.
Right now its Keith Urban, the guy wears earrings like a girl, and sings nothing but pop and rock, what is country about that city stuff. I think Hank Sr. would be turning in his grave if he saw the sad condition of what passes as country music these days.
Willie Nelson - he can’t sing!
Keith Urban for sure. Album love, pain and whole crazy thing was anything but country music
Willy Nelson - I don’t like his voice but his songs are ok. He is very overrated though!
I almost said….Willie Nelson (Somewhere Over The Rainbow came to mind, and the thing with Julio Eglasias), but while typing , I remembered ‘Pancho & Lefty’, ‘Seven Spanish Angels’, ‘The Party’s Over’, “Lukenbach Texas’, ‘Blue Eye’s Crying In the Rain’,and ‘Mamas Don’t Let……etc. etc(he actually has a pretty impressive resume). so, I’ll have to pick another one. o.k. I’ll go with the “whisperer.”..Bill Anderson (’I Get The Fever’ was ok , but that’s it, in my opinion)
Keith Urban is probably one of the most overrated…as for most overrated, I don’t think he quite fits that description, since he’s actually a very good guitarist. However, he did get too far into the style of pop with his last album.
Oh, and whoever said Billy Ray Cyrus–that was a great answer! He definitely was overrated and he’s not even country! I mean, that stupid song he played at CMA Fest sounded like a rock song–a bad one at that!
