What’s the difference between the Rock music and the Country music?

Mr. Dude M asked the question:

Besides the differences related to the origins and the lyrics…
what are the difference between these music geners.

Actually am not an english speaker but I like lsning to the english music, esp Indie, alternative, punk and pop music.. and I have a loooooooong long list of favourites, and when i search for their generes and discover that they are Country music!

I can’t find a difference between these genres!

Any help please?! Thanks!

Rock is performed with large rocks, stones, and pebbles, where as country is performed with old pots, pans, and skillets;) LOL

usually rock music is more amplified meaning guitars use amplifiers and even distortions..
on the other hand, country music is more of acoustic type meaning guitars are in their pure form.. the typical acoustic guitar we hear.. well, although not all the time. some would still use the electric ones..
you just have to remember that country music has more of like a jumping , calm and steady beat.. while rock music is louder and is usually fast-paced.

Hold on partner… You can’t tell the difference between Country and Punk Rock? oh my….

Rock is hard sounding meaning lots of heavy distorted guitars with head banging (stupidest thing i’ve ever seen).

Country is more soothing relaxing music talking about old trucks and love.

    They sound WAY different.
