If country Music is more popular than every why is the dancing dying?

kent j asked the question:

Country music is definitly far more popular than it was even 5 years ago. But the CW dance fad started fading 5 years ago.
WHY? there is no better night of dancing than at a country music place… period.. all kinds of dance styles from ballroom, latin, swing and yes country..

why wouldnt this craze be even stronger than EVER?

makes no sense…
try two stepping.. its the best.. (chicago style)

The boot scootin boogie wore off ages ago
Its better to sit and drink in bars than dance around and fall down.

I don’t know why did you decide it is dying. Maybe your local club doesn’t know how to run the business, that’s all.

On the other hand, due to “So You think You Can Dance” and to “Dancing With the Stars” dancing is more popular than ever. Only country was not includded in the shows, maybe this is where all those people went. I can tell you that ballrooms are more crowded than I’ve ever seen them.

Line dancing seems on the decline but partner dancing is doing quite well nationwide. Ballroom competitions are adding sections for C&W that weren’t there 5 years ago, for example, so maybe it’s a local thing where you are.

Country music is definatly popular but country isnt what country used to be. It’s certainly targets the younger crowd these days so there is a little hip hop moves mixed in. It’s still great but it is not what it used to be.

I am not sure why you think this. Here in California country dancing is going strong. I dance every Friday and Saturday night at different spots and I can tell you if I don’t get there at least 30 minutes early, I don’t get a table and so then we just stand on the dance floor until the next song plays.

It doesn’t matter if we go to a small hole in the wall place or a large place it is all the same.
